Children's Dentistry

As parents, one of the best gifts we can give our kids is a foundation for excellent oral health.

Dental problems affect kids the way they affect you, but your kids may not be able to verbalize what's wrong. For them, dental problems make it difficult to eat, learn, and play, but these problems can often be avoided, and it starts with routine dental visits.

Gentle Care for Your Little One

We're happy to see kids from the age of three and up. Dr. Raymond Lee has two children of his own and has been treating kids for over 15 years, so he understands that each child has their own unique needs.

He takes his time with our youngest patients because he wants them to feel safe and secure with us. We'll never push a child to be treated who is not ready because lifetime dental anxiety often starts with a single negative childhood experience.

Your Child's First Visit

We like to start kids off with "happy visits" where our goal is to provide only positive experiences. Each successive visit builds a little more trust, and soon kids feel comfortable enough with us to let us perform treatment. Of course, we want you to be comfortable too, so you are welcome to join your child in the treatment room.

During your child's first visit, we'll count their teeth, give them a ride in the dental chair, and show them some of our equipment like "the squirty thing" and "the blowy thing." Dr. Lee adores children and will create a hand balloon that your child can take with them. Each child gets to choose a prize from our toy chest before they leave our office.

These visits also give us an opportunity to educate you about childhood oral health issues so you know what to expect. We will show you how to brush your child's teeth and explain the importance of healthy nutrition. If you have questions about thumb-sucking or bottle feeding, this is the time to ask!

Keeping Your Child's Smile Healthy

Early childhood dental exams are essential because they allow us to monitor your child's oral health and fix problems long before they cause your child any discomfort. Baby teeth are just as important as permanent teeth because they hold a place for permanent teeth to emerge properly.

Some important preventive treatments we provide are:

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride is essential for strong, healthy teeth. The city of Boca Raton does not fluoridate their water, so we may find that your child can benefit from a topical fluoride varnish to protect their teeth.

Dental Sealants

A dental sealant is a coating of plastic that is painted on to the rough chewing surfaces of teeth like molars. The grooves and pits in these teeth attract food and bacteria that cause cavities, but sealants act as a barrier to protect teeth.

Age-Appropriate Care as Your Child Grows

To some extent, your child's teeth will be developing into their early teens and twenties, and Dr. Lee has the training and experience to keep up with your child's ever-changing dental needs. At our Boca Raton dental office, we provide all the children's dentistry services that your child needs to keep their smile healthy.
